This large format postcard supplements National Grid’s annual pipeline awareness program (PPAP) baseline safety mailings. Directed to the affected public along rights-of-way near high-pressure natural gas transmission pipelines, it warns of the possible catastrophic consequences of damage to such pipelines. It explains the importance and meaning of pipeline markers and encourages the public to protect themselves, their families and their community by always notifying 811 before any digging projects. It also advises that National Grid must be onsite during any excavation within 20 feet of a high-pressure pipeline.
