A comprehensive program that equips new and young drivers in the New York electric service area to respond safely to downed/damaged power lines and motor vehicle accidents involving electrical equipment. This program addresses a critical knowledge gap, as power line safety is absent from formal driving course curriculum in New York. Includes a sample mailing distributed to driver education instructors. Mailing invites instructors to order free brochures and glovebox cards and to download an instructor’s guide on National Grid’s power line safety for drivers website: drivers.ngridsafety.com.
